Cooking while Autistic: Homemade Ketchup

Salsa, Sriracha, Aioli…. Flirt as much as ya like when ya go out. But when ya come home to your main squeeze… Ketchup’s got a brand new, HOT look, baby. On a Foodstamp budget…

You GOTTA make your own ketchup.

Look, Ma! No GMO corn syrup! Organic & Vegan as you choose! Probiotic! And cheap…. ‼️‼️

Ketchup Profane

Ingredients (all eligible for Foodstamps & Foodbanks)

2 6-oz cans/jars (organic) tomato paste
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar (organic)
Juice of 1 Lemon
1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 cloves fresh garlic
1 TBSP onion powder
1/2 TBSP Mrs Dash
1 tsp black pepper
1 1/2 TBSP honey (raw, organic, local)
1 1/2 TBSP molasses
1/2 tsp sea salt
1 tsp soy sauce
1/2 rounded tsp dry mustard
1/2 tsp pickling spice
Pinch cayenne or red peppers flakes
2/3 cup of water or stock
1 tsp powdered chia seeds for thickness

Putting on the Dog!

Directions

1. Blend til smooth.

2. Chill overnight.

3. Dress you’re dog….

Note: To increase probiotic goodness… and further enrich the taste… Consider making your own fermented tomato paste… Easy! Fun! Cheap! A future post!
