Sometimes I get my head out of my ass… err, the political crisis of the moment, take a step back, catch a breath, and….

Think about our known Universe being some 13.7 billion years old…

Ya know, 432,000,000,000,000,000 seconds… give or take a parsec…

And I think about the sheer number of random events that had to take place in all those moments…

• the number of butterfly wings that had to flap…
• just so…
• just then…

for instance…

For our Galaxy to be born…

Or our sun…

Earth…

Life…

Buddah…

Autistic Johnny.

And, then, I think, if one, just ONE butterfly flapped a nanosecond outta beat…

No Galaxy…

No Earth…

No Buddah…

No Johnny.

Say, speaking of Buddha…

Know what’s really WEIRD about whirlpools?

You know, those spinning funnels in seas, streams, bathtubs…

Shaped, say, by the flow of water tumbling down mountains traveling through meadows dashing around dozens of rocks & logs…

Some lasting fractions of a second, some permanent enough to earn names like Old Sow, Fishs Eddy… or the Eye of Jupiter?

Know what’s funny about them?

Inside… they’re simply some degree of vacuum. That water or clouds or whatev… swirl around.

Even the named ones.

Like the Milky Way.

The sun Sol.

Earth.
